I must say, this essay 'One day, Now Broken In Two', left me stunned. Life does in fact go on, yes, but does that mean we must forget? No. Not at all. Im sure nobody could forget this even if they tried. Some people believe we are better people then we were before. I think in some way were exactly the same, we just had our eyes opened a tad more. Airport security, I think is a must have. I think it should have always been that way. I think America should be doing everything it can to stop anything as catastrophic as this from happening again. People were so stunned after 9/11 because they never thought anything that massive could ever happen to this country. But they were wrong. We were wrong. Another disaster like 9/11 could happen. No one can truly say it wont. But people should contribute as much as they can to prevent it. And if that means getting searched at a airport, at schools, or anywhere else, then so be it. I think we should be more meticulous with things like that. September 11, and 9/11 are two very different things. But at the same time when it all comes down to it, its all the same. Its a very integral day, maybe not the good important to many, but it still matters so very much. Its a reminder to some of all the animosity in the world, all the bad things that can happen, but we should not give up hope that the world is a great place, just with many flaws.

I do agree with most of the things. Except people can forget about it. Most of people are too busy living their life now. Even I almost forgot about it this year. I forgot about it last year and felt so bad about it. forgetting stuffs may happen to some people. I am so agreeing with the airport security. I am so agreeing with it but what I do not think right is, security system now is not completely safe. When I saw the scene of the 9/11 online, I thought, 'Oh! That movie seems interesting.' But since I had to homework I just flipped channel to see news. But I saw that scence on another channel. I got confused and few minute later I found that it just happened. I was just elementary school kid, but man.. I was so shocked. I was always planning about study abraod in US at that time, and thought America is one of the safest place. Well. I was wrong. Nowhere is safe.
ReplyDeleteI also don't agree with this kind of event is preventable. If this thing happened and security is now more complicated than before, there still is hole. People get more evilish and be able to find some other way.
p.s. I liked how you used vocab list words in this essay.
Haha I love learning new words =D
ReplyDeleteYup, I don't think this kind of event is preventable. Not at all. Its sad that people can forget. Its a horrible day and it effected all of us some how, atleast, I would like to think it did. Im not saying people should think about it every day, and let it get in the way with our lives, but it matters, either way.
Well I think this is fine(There is privacy protection something called HIPPA). I volunteer at hospital and I do saw lots of crazy things yesterday. And they even didn't care because they are not related.
ReplyDeleteEven I was not affected, I had moment to think about 9/11. I hope there are not that many people who just think that is not gonna happen to them. It can happen in Wilmington. There is always possibility this kind of things can happen.
Abbi, i do agree with you no one can say that another attack could happen to the states. But i also know its not something that will ever be forgotten either. This article was very eye-opening. I definitely do have the same opnion you do on the following article.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with your opinion abbi it hard to forget what happen on that tragic day. Also airport safety should be taken more seriously and their should be more things done to prevent this from re happing and more people willing to contribute to.
